Mostly we who attend university dont get access to Nepalese history
There is no analysis of who we are also, that is our pshychology and our aspiration
Some are desperate to show we are peace lover Budhist (which is rightly so to honor such a great being) but we are not that much of number to adhere Buddhism (sufficiently large though)
Some are ultra modern full of communism but seems nobody has tried to compile what it means to be communist in Nepal, why we need that and what faults were there in our previous society (there were problems even of inhuman nature) philosophically
Some are feminist whose lense cant see more than one gender
Some are stupid racist who cant see more than their caste or race
Some are blind knows nothing yet hold tradition (which is in large number) and are innocent even to become inhuman sometimes because they also dont know how modern mind thinks and also dont know true meaning of old text (most people dont even have access to Sanskrit due to deficient eduction system)
Some are D/E/C/P whatever they r, they are technical people with scarce knowledge of philosophy and they often question what is there in old things and since these technical knowledge is from certain part and certain philosophy then they must be correct is their whole idea of reality.
But what we aspire how from time Atharva Veda to this day we stand as a country. How along himalayan range this Vedic and along Tarai parallel to himalayas these Puranic civilization manage to survive. Just because they all were blind, they couldnt think anything better, still our soul reject many things at belief level.
Whoever accept new things first must answer who we are what we believe first and only then why we should give up on those belief system. Just by saying someone else progress by something wont make us as superior as they are (in terms of wealth, power, and superior governance etc.). One who walked 100 miles and one who walked just 1 mile cant compare the same. But brain can help us to do it fast. But again without knowing what is there to hold, what we hold, we cant move forward.
I see mostly people are fighting against old things, but with whom at first and with what at second. They dont have the material because our education system donot allow to read those things. We just say we cant go back, true we cant go back. But to fight you must know the opponent. Just saying old is not sufficient. Ignoring large population and their beleif is not possible.
Hope, atleast documents collected by Pujya Guru Yogi Narharinath Ji will be incorporated while teaching our history and law etc. wherever they fit to understand who we are.
I just don’t have the energy to write against the popular teaching (perhaps I have read the wrong books) that Hindu jurisprudence is contained within the Smriti, mainly the Manusmriti, and the property systems of the two schools — Mitakshara and Dayabhaga (I forget which region each school belongs to). But these are laws, not jurisprudence. I admit I do not know the subject of jurisprudence deeply — such a tragedy — but it seems to me these were laws made for the time and place according to the wisdom of the sages of that era. The Smriti writers themselves clearly said that the source of their understanding is the Veda. So, anyone who wants to understand exactly what truth Hindus hold must study the Vedas. Those who cannot may go through the Upanishads (major texts distilled by sages to teach the essence of the Jñāna part of the Veda). Those who still find that difficult may turn to the Mahabharata (which is in itself a “great battle” to understand), or they may study Mīmāṁsā, Nyāya-śā...
