Equality/Quota for rich kids and Gyan of Quality and sacrifice for poor kids

Have nothing to say against ensuring equality through quotas.  But wait who is getting the benefit  Poor kids are discriminated just because they are born bahun or chhetri. They are not given opportunities to study in English language as Nepali is official language and poor must carry the nationality as opposed to rich or who are struggling with this hypocrisy, to study and enjoy English pride in the society. Universities require English language for better subject. Poor kids got lower grades due to their social and economic conditions as well as poor school system of government. But they have to sacrifice their ethos because someone who got wealth and same surname happens to be in government. Burden of others to be on their young shoulders. However, equality is ensured everywhere for rich kids. Go to xyz prestigious school, get spoon fed and still you are unequal and the oppressor must be sidelined.  Really these poor kids who’s struggling their life to get educati...

Oppression of Jaisi Bahun

With great wish in my heart to cure this society/and myself from useless and stupid uses of Caste system, I write against these hopeless practices.  Who are Jaisi Bahun? Codification of Jaisi Bahun can be found in Muluki Ain of JBR, I don't wish it to be called of Nepal. It is rather a collection of oppression tools. Aryas especially Khaas originated around Jumla triumph truth and Gods over anything else, but both rule and Muluki Ain of JBR was example of exception.  That Ain provide that Jaisi are sons of Upadhyay but from second wife, or wife without fire rituals or the wife was widow of someone else both physical or symbolical, or the wife was from Jaisi origin itself.  This definition is nothing but a tool to confuse everyone and legitimize nonsense propaganda they would later preach. "Jaisi vaneka xxx ka xora hun" is a common phrase. I am in no position to accept this, though this nonsense muluki Ain has now long been lost but its children are still operating h...

Irrelevance of Dharmashastra as Hindu Jurisprudence

Dharmashastra are coded law and they are not guiding principles. Dharmashastra are recalled as Smriti but they are not remembrance of Vedic hymns rather of system.  Dharmshastra tried to envision society as collection of different classes and established them into chain of rules.  Since our society has moved forward and those class system has no relevance in this society, those coded law are not relevant except for learning law from historical perspective. However Dharmashastra were never a guiding principle for law. Smriti's sages have said them to derive from Vedas. Anything inconsistent with Vedas is void. However, it is hard to correlate Vedas and Dharmashastra. And any discussion to establish Hindu Jurisprudence by explaining them by using Dharmashastra is waste of effort. Dharmashastra has lost its relevance as law in force and also was never relevant for jurisprudence perspective.

Why one speak truth (blessing for honest men): Yajnavalkya's opinion

This strict rule of my mother and grandmother, never to lie, has been guiding principle so far. Many people lie at face, mostly to be clever and some in fear. Talking in reverse order and talking nothing but lies is set standard of the society to be clever. In many situation, it appears those who lie and cheat alone get progress. Sometime a negative reflection upon progress to occur. However, progress is necessary and to give up this instinct is injustice to oneself. This constant fight between honest and liars may be running from time immemorial.  This gain from lying and pain from speaking truth as it appears, what is the justification? Why should one speak truth? Every religion and pioneer of law seems to emphasis this matter. However, why? Social perspective is too lame to justify. Society is only the tool for individual man to progress and that too for all members of the society.  However, no text seems to answer why one speak truth or why wise speak the truth. Pani...

Ensuring quality or limiting chances to improve

Decision making often gets surrounded by gloomy arguments of past and future. Mostly none can focus at present. We collect data that support the probable outcome from past and envision outcome. Among probable outcomes, most beneficial outcome through most feasible route gets followed. However, those who can't move on always get drawn by past. Their inability to move forward cripple them. Often regulators could get this biased perspective. Since they are concerned about loss on failure of the decision rather on gain upon success. While, those on execution role get hyper excited towards gain of success. They envision all flower but in the future.  Any good that is necessary for human progress or necessary for survival should be under the regulation of the government. Government whether through ensuring distribution of these good by producing itself or organizing system for private players to produce and distribute always ensure that the beneficiaries should get it at highest quality ...
